Unless Jake got a head coaching job, that is. What, in your opinion, changed?

There's a lot about this move that seems strange, including (i) the timing of it this close to NSD (even though I know you said the Bucs did not want to wait), (ii) the NFL destination (when the thought had been that Jake's next goal was to be a college head coach) and (iii) the fact that this appears to be a lateral move at best, and that might be a stretch. On the last point, consider that in the last few weeks alone, the head coach whose job Jake wanted just left that spot to become an SEC coordinator. And an NFL coordinator just left to become an SEC coordinator. It's even more strange when you add all that to how long Jones and Jake have been coaching together.

(1) Do you think Jake got tired of the recruiting and grind of college football at this level? This is really his first go-round of that at this level. But bailing because of that would seem to put a pretty big damper on his hopes of becoming a college football head coach, don't you think? (It seems like any hiring AD might be concerned about that after this move.)

(2) I know you have stated that Coach Jones sits down and does an evaluation with each assistant coach. Had that happened yet for this off-season? And if so, do you think there's a chance that it didn't go as well as perhaps Jake was expecting? (I'm not saying that we cut Jake loose --- just that perhaps there was enough constructive criticism to make him uncomfortable, or at least less comfortable.)

(3) Do you think there was any friction between Jones and Jake regarding the way the quarterback position has been handled? For example, on the one hand, you can say that Jake's offense was productive the second half of this season. On the other hand, (i) if it was his decision to make, Jake had the guy who drove the production on the bench (including in key SEC East losses to Florida and Georgia), (ii) Jake obviously did not coach up Dobbs to run around the field the way he does (that's much more just natural vision and ability being turned loose) and (iii) Jake's offensive program/process and evaluation did not flush out the Dobbs evaluation earlier (even in the face of what was woefully anemic offensive production).

Understand if you guys have to be careful about the response here. But it just seems like there's more to this.
