Dobbs looked to show no improvement from last year. In fact, he looked even worse. Showed no awareness in the pocket and struggled to make decisions when being pressured. If he does not improve this week, the Vols coaching staff needs to look at making a change at QB.
RB
Grade: B-
Hurd and Kamara looked slightly above average on Thursday. Despite horrible OL play they were able to at least make some carries worth a damn. Kamara needs to get more involved in the offense.
WR
Grade: B+
The WR corps looked solid on Thursday. Guys were getting open, we just couldn't get the ball to them. Malone with a good play on a bad pass broke the game wide open for the Vols. Preston Williams showed promise as well.
TE:
Grade: A-
Ethan Wolf was exceptional on Thursday. he made plays when we needed him too. He needs to be utilized more in the passing game.
OL
Grade: D+
Lord have mercy they played like ass. Couldn't pick up a blitz and too many penalties (Coleman Thomas). Kendrick looked the best out of all of them. Richmond will have growing pains as well. But the interior line was atrocious. The guards looked like turnstyles. The OL also looked smaller than I thought. EMCC has bigger boys than them.

For being as hyped up as they were this offseason , they sure didn't play up to expectation. Not a terrible game but I expected more TFL's and sacks from this group.

JRM getting ejected (I wouldv've assaulated the ref after that call) certainly hurt the defense as a whole, but these guys, despite a few plays, were able to stuff the hole.

I do not understand why Abernathy is starting over Warrior. That's really all I have to say about that.
