1. We didn't tackle to the ground the whole fall camp and we only had one scrimmage.

2. We had 5-6 guys in green jerseys daily who weren't even hurt.

3. He didn't let DBs and WRs go one on one the whole summer.

4. He spends so much time worrying about "practice etiquette" and our players not playing to rough it's ridiculous. This is football.

His biggest mistake this year was how soft he treated this team this offseason and fall camp. There's not enough toughness, competivenes, nastyness, etc. in this program right now (Barnett and Jennings are the exceptions). Also the team just wasn't as game ready coming out of the gate and it showed big time. You may be able to get better at technique operating the way Butch does, but your not gonna get better at playing real football if you don't practice it.

When Rodney Harrison came to New England his teammates hated him because he didn't pull up on anybody for any reason. Supposedly it started all kinds of fights. So Belicheck cut his all pro Lawyor Milloy and made Rodney Harrison a captain. Tells you all you need to know about what type of mindset a great football leader should have.
