I’ve seen a few people talk about Willis only being listed at 6’0” 200lbs on his rivals profile and being worried about him being big enough to play ILB in Pruitts defense. Here are a couple of guys that are his size and are/were OUTSTANDING in a 3-4 D.
Reuben Foster:
His Rivals profile had him listed at 6’1” 244lbs, but he measured 6’0” 229lbs at the NFL combine. Had an incredible career playing ILB at Alabama.
Roquan Smith:
His Rivals profile had him listed at 6’0” 203lbs, he measured in at 6’1” 236lbs at the NFL combine. Had an incredible career at UGA.
Here are two current guys playing in the SEC in a 3-4 defense.
Shane Lee:
His Rivals profile had him listed at 6’0” 235lbs, the Alabama roster has him at 6’0” 246lbs. He is from the exact same High School as Aaron Willis, and Rivals has them ranked right around the same ranking as each other. Lee led the SEC for freshmen in tackles, 2nd in sacks, and was a Freshmen All-American/All-SEC Freshmen last year.
Nakobe Dean:
His Rivals profile listed him at 6’0” 215”lbs, UGA website has him at 6’0” 220lbs. Was ranked the #1 ILB by Rivals, ahead of Shane Lee the guy previously mentioned. He played in all 14 games for UGA last year.
All these guys have the same thing in common as Aaron Willis, undersize BUT fast, athletic, physical, will knock your head OFF, and play in a 3-4 defense.
We just got a STUD.
