Yeah I know this is the definition of beating a dead horse but I was told by a current player that he thought his high school strength program was tougher than the one we had in place this year. He said that it's not necessarily the specific workouts/exercises being bad or anything, just that they didn't enforce them at all. Apparently when tired, a lot of the players would just skip not only reps but entire sets when coaches weren't really paying attention.
In comparison, a guy I went to HS with who plays for Ole Miss talked about their workouts being the toughest thing he's ever experienced. He's only a walkon and said the few times he stopped at 9 reps rather than 10 (thinking nobody was watching) he was immediately screamed at and forced to stay after for punishment.
This new strength coach can't get in here soon enough imo
