This is by no means a knock on Coach Pruitt, because I believe he’s going to work through this rough stretch and do well here.
I believe it’s much safer to hire a hot shot OC who has experience coaching quarterbacks. Let him bring in his system, groom his quarterback, and put an exciting offense on display. In my opinion, it’s much easier to hand pick a defensive coordinator than it is for a defensive minded coach to get exactly what and who he wants running the offense.
This is why I think Eli Drinkwitz is going to be a good hire for Missouri even though he did coach Appalachian State for one year even though it was Satterfield’s players.
