I'm reading about how we got pushed around...this that and the other. What I saw was a defense that gave up a scoring drive on a muffed punt, short field, sudden change situation two series into the season and a touchdown pass that was honestly just a prayer(watch the replay, guys slings it without looking and the back made a hell of a play on a defensive lineman).
The defense lost their best player and leader halfway through the first quarter. And they were playing an offense that essentially ran the triple option which can not be simulated in practice and whose blocking techniques are designed to neutralize talent deficiencies on the offensive line. (See Air Force 2006) And they only gave up 13 points and 0 in the second half.
I was and still am disgusted by the offense. Not just last night but in general. This is Butch Jones's offense and we are stuck with it no matter who the OC is. The talent we have on Offense needs Phillip Fulmer/David Cutcliffe/ hell even Randy Sanders running it not Butch Jones. Its a shame to see such potential wasted by such a stupid offensive philosophy.
