Is there a stranger college football coaching career than Bobby Petrino?

He tore it up at Arkansas. I think we all agree that we would’ve snatched him up in a second while we had Dooley.

He goes to Louisville and the wheels fly off after the loss of Lamar Jackson. The defense they have at the end of his last season has to be one of the worst in recent history.

He’s at Missouri State now. Will he ever make it back to the P5? How would he do at a school like Tennessee?

Another interesting tidbit about Petrino. Both he and Coach Pruitt finished 5-7 their first years at Arkansas and Tennessee respectively. Both followed it up with 8-5 records year 2. Petrino of course didn’t have a weird COVID-19 year to have to deal with year 3 but he did have a great quarterback in Ryan Mallett.
