I mean, Lincoln Riley didn't seem to have any. Why is Pruitt?
(that's sarcasm, for those not inclined)
Is Pruitt learning about many things that go with being a first time head coach? Absolutely. But the reason he couldn't get Griffin or Taylor-Stuart or Walker, etc probably doesn't have to do with him being a first time head coach or when they visited, etc. It more than likely (almost definitely) has to do with UT being winless in the SEC last year, .500 over the last 10 years and having 5 coaches in the last 10 years. Not sure Pruitt can do anything about those "growing pains".
Again, he's going to be learning many things about being a head coach as he moves forward. But as far as not being able to pull in 5 star players right now? I'm not buying that is part of "growing pains". You want to talk about game management, planning, time management off the field? Sure. But not being able to pull in 5 star recruits the first 4 months after he took over the worst season in UT football? Nah.
