I despise Kensucky basketball so much. Kensucky has been our nemesis all my life and their fans have rubbed our noses in it for decades. It is hard for me to quantify how much this win means to me. It means at least as much to me as winning the SEC tournament and maybe as much as reaching the elite 8. The win would even rival reaching the final 4 for me. I know that sounds crazy and probably over the top. But that just tells everyone how I despise Kensucky.
And so we beat a higher ranked team and the favorite to win the game that would have been elevated to a 1 seed if it had beaten us, but we don't even get a bump to a 2 seed for beating the higher ranked favorite. Makes sense. Kensucky, the blueblood. Oh, by the way, we beat the refs too.
