Even though my boy Knox only got to see the great Peyton Manning play for a couple of years in Denver, he knows his history and how important Peyton is to UT football. Out of any fathead imaginable (super heroes, movie/tv show characters, sports teams, athletes, you name it), he chose the Peyton UT fathead and made me a proud daddy.
He had to put it up tonight after my parents gave it to him, and he told me where to put each piece. Even though the 2016 season was a disappointment, I made some memories with my son that we will remember forever... watching the Dobbbail boot at another kids birthday pool party when me and some other dads completely lost it in front of all the kids and mothers, and watching the comeback at aTm going outside on the porch together after each UT score in the 2nd half to scream through the neighborhood in joy to save the ears of the others inside watching with us.
UT Football isn't life, but it sure is a damn big part of it. Having grown up during the Majors and Fulmer years watching Andy, Heath, Peyton and Tee lead us to so many dominating seasons and a National Title and then witnessing the end of the reign during my college years at UT watching us lose to Vandy for the first time in my life for my last game as a student, I have hope that the love I share for this school and program will bring us some more unforgettable memories in the future, and I hope that God lets me experience those next to my son.
Sorry for the Dear Facebook sentimental rant, but Merry Christmas to my Vol brothers and sisters!
