lots of experience as a head and assistant fb coach;loves UT;knows many people in the athletic department and it's networking, UT administrators and influential donors;a reasonably intelligent and articulate guy.
Cons:66 years old;does he have the energy and passion needed for the job since that was a major cause of the decline of our football program under his watch;appears he negotiated a very lucrative contract with a huge payout at the time after he publicly endorsed Hammy for the AD job and thought after winning a NC and Hammy he wouldn't be fired; gives me the impression that he would be a don't rock the boat type AD and would be very hesitant to fire coaches who need to be replaced, especially the head football coach;concerning, that he was recently quoted as saying that Holly was the right person to succeed Pat;possible that he is a compromise candidate for the BOTs and some members feel they can influence him to do their bidding; and most concerning to me is the fact not a major school offered him a job after he was fired...that is a real red flag for me.
