1. 4 of our 5 of our top 5 rated OL recruits since '12 are either busts or big disappointments.
Blair=Bust,
Stewart=Bust (I understand the reasons, but it was a busted signing),
Richmond=Not sure he's got the tools to ever become good. Still rooting for him though.
Boulware=How can he be so lacking as to not crack this line-up? Not ready to give up on him either, but it's time to step up and help.
and Jack Jones=Good, but apparently lacking enough that the coaches wanted to redshirt him. It's a frightening thought that our staff might have been so delusional about our OL as to think maybe they could get by without him.

2.Low-rated recruits are showing why they were low rated:
Raulerson
Mosley - difficult injury but no indication that he's going to see the field
Robertson- a low rated DT signee who's playing poorly
Sanders- No evidence he'll contribute

3. Weisman, Kendrick and Hall have been pleasant surprises, but nobody's booking their flights for the AA ceremonies

4. We signed 0000 OL in 2012. They would be seniors now. Probably the single biggest contributor to our current state. Thank you, Dooley!

5. Our great hope now is Hall, but we shouldn't forget that he was doing so well pre-injury that he lost his starting spot.

Conclusions:
OL recruiting, with the exception of 2012, may have actually been better under Dooley. Dallas Thomas, James, Fulton and Stone to the NFL. Tiny would have made it, except for injury.

For all the great recruiting done by Butch, OL is the weak spot. And unless player development fixes things (and there's no evidence of that ), it may be his undoing. 2017 is off-the-charts scary. Without Dobbs' feet, Hurd, and Kamara, I'm not sure we make a single first down.

Many of you are blaming the OL coaching. But our guys look slow. Too often, they miss their blocks entirely. That's not a strength issue. It's either speed or poor understanding. Maybe it's true that the lack of pre-season contact hurt. But it seems equally likely to me that S&C left these guys with slow, lazy feet.

OK - let's get Hall back and hope that he returns to form. Let's get Jones in the starting line-up. Brent has already said it's unlikely that any freshman signees can help. Are there any current DL who are candidates to make the move to OL? KMac? Vickers? Johnson?
