Damn, some of you guys act like UT has always been a big time spender when they have NEVER been one of the top payers for coaches.
UT is NOT going to fire CJP this season unless they lose out!!!!
They might cut him loose mid season next year if they start out bad and don't show more life than this year.

MAJOR POINT:
The Ga vs UF game proved that no matter how good you think your defense is you will NOT win if your QB is not upper tier as there was a HUGE difference in the QB's between GA and UF.
CJP has had the burden of having JG as his best QB and I think the Arkansas game proved that QB's like Maurer would not have done better than JG.
When JG is on then UT has a decent chance of winning but otherwise UT has a chance to lose to anyone.

I do think HB will be really good.
Tragically HB didn't have the opportunity to go through Spring ball and was out due to COVID-19 for much of the fall so don't try to say that they should have had him ready to play. Hindsight is 20/20 but I'm sure the coaches were hoping as all of us were that JG was finally going to step up and play to his potential given he finally had the same OC 2 years in a row.

Remember this for those of you who moaned and bitched because Jesse didn't look at UT through orange tinted glasses, Jesse wrote a piece about the odds favoring those teams with experienced WR's returning over those with a returning OL. I don't think JG has NEARLY the same confidence in his receivers this year as he did last year and it shows.
