I hope you guys are enjoying these comedies insofar as you have the time to do so. After learning of John Prine's death, I need a good laugh. Freaking 2020 has sucked royally for musicians whose work I enjoy thus far - first Neil Peart, and now John Prine? If the ol' Wuhan 'Rona has testicles, I'm going to find them and punch them repeatedly.
Anyway, I had thought that maybe folks like @TNHempWorks and his ilk would have really dug yesterday's recommendation of CHEECH AND CHONG'S NEXT MOVIE, but it isn't even populating an avatar to tag for him, so... here comes the "I am disappoint" face. Oh, whale! The show must go on, and so it does with a simply outstanding comedy. It introduced me to the inimitable Warren Oates, the funky sound of The Spinners' "Rubberband Man," and the joys of RVs.
The film, of course, is Ivan Reitman's classic, STRIPES.
All the joys of basic without the fuss and muss of getting gassed, hearing about a little yellow bird, and hearing "ON YOUR FEET!!!" dozens of times a day!
From IMDb, the plot is about "Two friends who are dissatisfied with their jobs [who] decide to join the army for a bit of fun."
Not sure what the "two friends" MOSs were going to be, but man, I wouldn't mind the sort of Article 18s they got from the two MPs. Yeah, that's a sidebar, but who cares? Bill Murray is back in the "series" with this outstanding Cold War-era flick, along with the guy that directed him in GROUNDHOG DAY later in his career, Harold Ramis. The two really play off one another in a sort of classic straight man/screw-up "odd couple" way that works like a charm in this one.

Okay, so that's a bit much, But I needed to throw out a *.gif that's been used about a thousand times on the GQ. And for good reason... the film is awesome.
