With what was said or wasn't said on Saturday, here is my take.
Sure, it has been 15 years of being a non factor in the SEC. It is ironic that we haven't been a factor since SS retired from FL in 02. I don't believe it is coincidence that SS left and we declined. I believe Fulmer let his guard down in 02, let discipline slip (Kelly Washington), possiblyrelaxed too much as SS was the only thorn in his side for 10 years.
In hindsight, I believe he would have been competative had he stayed with the recruiting class committed. Unfortunately we will never know.
Now, look at the last 9 years and it has been our worst nightmare.
Now looking forward.....I honestly don't think it will matter to 99% of the fan base what he says if he starts winning 10 plus games a year.If you look at Saban's reactions to the Bama mentality, I honestly believe he detests 90% of the fan base there. If you can post a time when he has been warm and fuzzy with Bama nation, I would like to see. With this in mind, you don't hear hardly a peep from Bama nation getting thier feelings hurt over his obvious contempt for them. As long as he keeps winning none of this matters.
Bottom line....Frankly I'm at the point that none of this matters if he makes a similar push in 2019 similar to Sabans and Kirbys 2nd year.
We have had a spoiled brat, frat boy, and snake oil salesman as head coaches.
I'm ready for a winner and could care less about personality as long as he delivers.
