5 GOP Senators wanted to change the bill at last moment. It was because the bill paid unemployment out at a rate of $600 a week. In some states that could be more than some people make. Bernie told them that if they held up the bill he would demand changes that he wanted; otherwise he would vote for it. The President Hal’s a presser tonight and discussed this issue. He said it was not a mistake and was done with his approval. He said it would take a long time to ajjust this to eschew states systems. Many states have old systems and need replaced anyway. This was primarily in southern states such as SC , Alabama, Mississippi, and TENNESSEE. He said the bill would be passed tonight as is. In the scheme of things it was a small issue.
I am proud of how he handled this. So there will be some poor people getting slightly more than they make and a few rich people getting a little less than they make.
