Interesting prospect for a lot of reasons. Did you guys realize that 247 had him as the 50th ranked prospect in the country after his sophomore year and Scout had him as a top 100 player. He had interest/offers from some major BB schools including Maryland, Indiana, ND, Clemson, etc. Then after his junior year 247 dropped him to around 90 I believe. Then came the 2016 AAU season and the bottom fell out of his ranking. Hard to find information about what happened but at one event it was mentioned that he was the 3rd big off the bench with only very limited minutes. Then the schools seem to start backing off of him and he dropped out of 247's top 200. Again very little information on him during this period. Also I find it a bit odd that a player on the national scene as much as he appeared to be from his early rankings has such a paucity of video. Outside of the game that WC linked I can't find crap.
Obviously his precipitous drop in the ranking and schools backing off is concerning but I do think ranking services are especially rough on highly rated kids that don't seem to measure up to where they were ranked early. Both Major Wingate and Trae Golden were players who dropped dramatically. As a 15 year I believe Major was the No 1 player in the country and Trae was top 10 at one time. However neither had the 150 spot plus drop that Kent had. That just seems highly unusual. Anyone know more of the story? Thoughts on him as a player?
