I get that the last 12+ years have been really bad save a few bright spots. I get that when you get kicked in the nuts over and over again it’s hard not to flinch every time somebody picks their foot up while around you. I get all that.
I also fully understand we have the best offensive mind that has ever coached here as a head coach and quite possibly the best offensive mind in the college game. What we’ve been seeing the last couple weeks is not a fluke. He takes lesser talent and beats more talent because he’s a literally offensive football genius. It’s fascinating to see how quickly he processes what he’s seeing. He’s a product of knowing defensive schemes as well, maybe even better than he understands offensive schemes. It’s why he run play one, play, two, play three, and he sees what player x does when in this situation and throws a small wrinkle that he knows is a player x beater. In fact, he’s good for two and sometimes 3 of those per game. Just his brain gives you gimme touchdowns. Just don’t f it up and it’s 6. Guaranteed. Now it’s up to players to score the other x number of points needed but it’s literally like starting the game 18-0 Vols. Makes life much easier. Just ask Hendon.
point of all that is the Vols have the better coaches. It’s not close. The offense that ole miss runs is Josh’s offense. I’ve been following this cat since he became a coach. He and Lincoln Riley were quite formidable and cut their reefs together and each learned things from the other but I’ve said this since before he was hired, and it’s a fact that 2 days before it happened I told y’all he was the hire, I also told you guys he’s the one. We are finally getting a coach that will run circles around his competition. I expect no less tomorrow night and sure they may have more talent in spots but they certainly don’t have more talent at coaching. To me that’ll be the difference in this game and if the Vols can play turnover free, I believe they win this game by 11-13 points. IMO.
