Saban is indisputably better in all aspects in terms of success, etc. However, Butch is very good in his own right and may end up with a very good resume when it's all said and done. Regardless, Butch is everything I would want in my coach. Someone that always has the players back, genuinely loves the place he's coaching, loves the passion of the fans, and respectful to literally anyone that walks up to him. He treats his players like his family. All of them - and not just the stars. He never throws them under the bus to the media - but he does give them the real talk in person. We hate his lack of being what some would call "genuine", but it isn't because that doesn't describe him. That is just because he is very careful with the media. You guys bashing the guy during wins/losses are going to regret it in 20 years, regardless of the the kind of success he has. The last guy to treat his players that well and love the University as much as he does was a guy named Phil. Criticize Butch for his coaching if you want and that's fine, fun, and part of being fans! But always remember what we have - and definitely don't yap about his job being on the line. This isn't sunshine pumping. It's the opposite. Saying adversity will come and to realize that we have an absolute class act of a coach - who is passionate - who yells at referees - who wants what the fans want. Get out of here with the just win posts. You're the same people who in middle school cheated on tests after not studying and get 100s. Life is a grind. Sometimes you bust your tail and get an 80. But you learn grow and do better the next time. And btw - the team is 4-0 on a double digit win streak and just beat a team we've lost to for 11 consecutive years. I'll hang up and listen Bob.
