Like most of us, I am not qualified to be a coach or to call plays. As a die hard fan, I would love to see Dobbs throw up a 50/50 ball 1-2 times a quarter, and I think it makes logical sense.
First, we have some big wide receivers that should be able to out jump their coverage (Jennings, Malone, Williams). If you put it down the sideline the chances of an interception will go done.
Second, if we complete it or if we come close to completing it, it should loosen up the box.
What's the drawback or chance of success?
1) Catch: 25% maybe more, we definitely have the size advantage
2) Incomplete: 50%
3) Interception: 25%
But let's think about this - maybe 20% of the interceptions, the DB will be falling down. Effectively this is a punt.
As an uneducated fan, I just want Dobbs to throw it deep more and give the receivers a chance.
