Our injuries this year have me wondering: are the high amount of injuries this season related to our strength and conditioning coach or program?
Then I remember the Jalen Hurd stunts on the treadmill before the season started. I believe those videos to be one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever seen. Some ignorant red (who thought the videos were cool) showed me the videos before the season started and I immediately wanted to pull my hair out. What was Jalen Hurd doing? And who the heck was allowing him to do this? When you think about the risk vs. reward it gets even more ridiculous.
Risk = Injury (Potential career ending injury)
Reward = Maybe video goes viral (no real reward)
I’m not going to blame all of the injuries on S&C, but I sure do question the state of our S&C coach and program. Especially with the negligent precedence set with the Hurd treadmill videos. Then I think about the depth, or lack thereof, and also conclude that Lyle is an overrated recruiter. Part of recruiting is bringing on depth. I don’t want to hear anymore injury excuses.
