Trying to be as succinct as possible. My wife and her sisters took their mother on a weekend trip, and my wife took lots of video with her camera. I do some video editing from time to time, so my wife asked me if I would turn the many videos into a single, long video and clean them up a bit--edit out the boring stuff, etc.

So I was working on this just a little while ago. In one of the videos, a random, unrelated woman, drops her food and yells, "F@%K!" I thought it would be funny to isolate the curse word, lower the pitch and drag out the tempo and make the whole event in slow motion, so I put the curse word into Audacity, which is an audio editing program.

So I have "the F word" in Audacity, and I go to the effects, lower the pitch and drag out the tempo. Then I hit <Play>. On the audio, the woman can clearly be heard saying, "$$HHIIIIIIIIITTTTT!" I put the pitch and tempo back to normal and play the word again, and she says "the F word". I lower the pitch and extend the tempo again, and she says "the S word".

My best guess is that either an Audacity programmer decided to have a little fun, or that they are working on creating a method of replacing one word with another throughout a recording, but it hasn't been implemented yet. I don't know. All I can say for sure is that at 4:00 am, that crap freaked me out a little.
