This is not a knock at all on Kendall, who looks to me to be a very good QB prospect. But right now we have Dobbs, who has two years, plus three 4 star recruits, who potentially could be spread out a bit with redshirts.
It was always going to be hard to recruit a QB, particularly the elite ones, with a depth chart that looks like that. Also, if you do get a QB this year who isn't that elite sure-fire superstar guy, you just perpetuate the appearance of a bloated depth chart.
I've said it before here, if we take off our orange-tinted glasses for a second and put ourselves in the shoes of a recruit, it's hard to justify going here when there are other places that have a much clearer path to playtime.
Might we be better off passing on QB's this year, and then we are in better shape to get one of the best of the bunch in next class, when the depth chart looks more inviting?
I just don't get why we have to have a QB so badly this year.
