Watching the '3rd Down for What?' crowd reaction on Saturday got me wondering how long Tennessee will hang onto it. Since we've still got it, here's how I see the good, the bad and the ugly of it.
- The Good - It immediately fills the stadium with noise and a good bass beat and gets the fans on their feet. One would hope that a 3rd down would get the fans on their feet anyway but maybe not.
- The Bad - Fans get on their feet and move a little but they rely on sound system for the noise. The sound system is loud, until they cut it off, then the decibel level drops significantly while there is a delay in the fans getting it cranked back up. That's a downfall of any piped in music, I guess.
- The Ugly - I call it 'the Funky White Boy'. Ain't nothing pretty about middle aged white men attempts at doing the whatever its called dance that goes along with 'Turn Down for What?'. The singular movement that they make is an arm bob that may be 6 inches of movement in total. Sometimes a miniscule amount of head bob goes along with it but not always. It just looks awkward. And sad.
I can't wait to see alot more of 'the Funky White Boy' at Neyland on Saturday. I'd also like to see Tennessee get 3rd Down stops about 80% of the time.
Go Vols!
