These are not my words, but I thought I'd share because I thought it as good. I looked these guys up, and none of them make a ton of money:
First off, let's forget about Shaka, Marshall, or Archie Miller. We'd have to pony up 3-4 mil per year to get any of them, and we won't do that.
First is Steve Prohm. He's 104-29 at Murray State with a tournament appearance, and should have made it again this year (they were a top 25 team).
Next is Brad Underwood at Stephen F. Austin. He's 61-8 in two seasons with two tournament appearances. He's like DT and worked his way up from the JUCO and assistant coach ranks. He's the only[/B] active coach to have won 44 of his first 50 games as a D1 head coach. Nobody else coaching today did that.
Bryce Drew at Valparaiso is interesting, too. He's 94-42 at Val with two tournament appearances. He's won the regular season conference title 3 out of his 4 years. He's also a former high NBA draft pick and would bring NBA credibility to the recruiting trail. Young, good looking guy. He could do well.
