Guys if we hire from within and stay with Butch's system it isn't necessarily a bad thing. Our offense has set records the last couple years so if we hire Scott or Z who are both regarded as quality coaches, especially Scott, he's the one who introduced the two TE sets to this system and he's a proven recruiter and position coach at several offensive positions. Scott's fingerprints are already all over our offense, and our offense was not our issue this year. I think the guy would do a good job. While i do believe it is beneficial to have your QB coach also be your OC, this situation is a little different and it could work if we get us a quality QB coach who is a good recruiter.
My biggest offseason worry is if Butch will let Shoop make the necessary changes to the defensive staff. let him go pick he right guys to coach up his defense. he didn't have top 25 defenses at Penn St and Vandy and then come here and forget how to call a defense.
