Some things that stood out to me:
I love Jimmy Johnson's reasons why Miami should be the national champions before the game started. "We beat Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma." Congratulations?
Keith Jackson was awful. So was the color guy. There was a clear fumble by a Miami running back and they argued it wasn't a fumble because the Miami player landed on the fumbled ball for a split second.
Real cheesy river boat gambler intros for the players. I bet you guys who watched it live thought it was cool, didn't you?
Holy penalties batman.
3 point stance for Miami's WRs? WTF? Good to see Tennessee's WRs not lining up 1930s style.
Mike Irvin aka Michael Irvin. What a beast. Tim McGee was awesome too. A lot of WR talent in that game.
Rarely have I seen a 9 step drop. Testaverde just looked real odd doing it.
Mark Hovanic? Wow he dominated. Although so did the entire defensive line.
Chris White with 9 INTs during the season, and got his 10th (one handed) in the game. Has to be one of the best seasons by a Tennessee DB ever. Wish he would have cut back at the 5 yard line, easy TD and he deserved the pick 6.
Jeff Powell outran Bennie Blades who had the angle on him. Straight speed from that kid.
Darrl Dickey got a first down on the second drive off a scramble, he was clearly short and slid for the first down. Tennessee got a few more first downs and then punted. Instant replay would have ruled that short, Tennessee would have went 3 and out and had to punt to Miami who scored easily on the drive before. It was a little thing but I thought it was huge. Dickey threw an INT to a Miami player on the goal line that the Miami player dropped but was ruled an INT as well. It's weird watching an old game that didn't have instant replay.
Awesome half-time performance from Lee Greenwood with the Pride of the Southland Band. His mic wasn't working well at first but he still killed it.
I love the sideline reporter. He would call out injuries on the sideline and get right up on the trainers. "Look at this guy's hand, boy is it bruised" as the camera man holds the camera over the back of the bench.
Jim Kelly interviewed on the sideline about playing for Trump in the USFL. "Anything on the NFL Jim?" Jim: "The Bills have my rights, so we'll see after the lawsuit." Guess he lost that lawsuit.
