Obviously I am not the coordinator & can't know the exact assignment, but it looked to me like Kirkland and Jumper both made some mistakes early.
Their first TD drive Kirkland was the MLB and we had several busted assignments, including the first play where JRM was seemingly at fault & extremely confused afterwards. I am guessing DK screwed up a call.
Next series Jumper is out there and blows the 4th and 3 in spectacular fashion.
Next series we come out in dime. I think Jancek figured I'm getting beat deep and both my MLB options are struggling, let's go with another DB. But ultimately in the 3rd quarter Bowling Green ran it down our throats in the dime. JRM got blocked by OL getting into the second level and Berry was not effective in run support from deep safety. We don't have a lot of violent athletes left at DB without Gaulden.
To me, this was much more concerning than Moseley having a bad day. We have to get Kirkland ready mentally, and I really hope TKjr is a better solution at safety. Oklahoma is going to spread us out and run the ball if they have any sense.
