Offense Question from Ohio Game

I am no expert on the game of football and I have a question for those that would know. Please no gimmick responses that are just annoying. I was watching the offensive play by play and man did that first drive (and a half) look pretty. Nice routes, pretty balls, good catches, (surprisingly) good blocking with excellent time for Dobbs. That second drive started out pretty much the same. What I did notice was that except on short yardage the run game was just not very effective except for when Kamara hit that speed run on the right sideline. Which brings me to the hypothesis that our run game is just not clicking on the inside like it should and that we are better suited right now for outside speed runs which is why I think we see Kamara hitting some nice runs when he gets the ball on the outside. I also noticed that on the play where Dobbs got sacked it came from the right DE that LITERALLY NO ONE even touched while two of our o-linemen just blocked air. Can someone explain to me why that would happen? Missed assignment or scheme? I mean it makes no sense to just leave a man untouched like that and basically pull the entire right side of the line to the fake and have dobbs drop to the unprotected side of the line? All of this to say that I think that our offense good be serviceable and much better than UF's on Saturday IF we capitalize on the outside run game, give Dobbs enough time to pass and receivers enough time to run their routes, and when the defense is tired hit the middle with our freight train. That is all and I would like to hear from anyone who like to comment. A discussion without debate is no discussion at all.
