Tennessee went through a Sunday workout that was typical Tuesday of game week which meant a passing game work offensively and defensively. Special teams work included punt drills and some kickoff work.
Several Vols were in green jersey's. But basically everyone was back. Kyle Phillips was back on the practice field along with Dimarrya Mixon. Both had missed some time in the last week. Jauan Jennings was back as well in a green jersey. The only newcomer to the green jersey ataire was receiver Tyler Byrd. The rest of the green jersey's were Hurd, Kamara, Jalen Reeves-Maybin, Latrell Williams, Malik Foreman, Carlin Fils-Aime, and Brandon Johnson.
Interestingly, Alexis Johnson was not in a scout team jersey. He's not in shape, but you wonder if he might not be a possibility to play Thursday night. My guess is probably not, but I wouldn't rule it out.
Jones started the practice with the circle of life drill that even had Jarrett Guarantano going against Jack Jancek as the Vols worked in shorts and shoulder pads. Maybe the most impressive win was Marquez Callaway in round 2 beat Justin Martin.
The receivers continue to show improved consistency as there were very few balls on the ground in routes versus air.
Bottom line to me, this team is ready to play.
