1. Dobbs had a great day. Two really outstanding runs and good day in the pocket except for one really bad sack and the interception
2. Receiving - Malone made a great adjustment on his TD and other plays. Byrd made a nice run after catch. Wolf made a couple of nice catches. Jennings draws attention and makes Opportunities for others. They blocked well down field also. Overall a good day for receivers.
3. OL made some real good holes for RBs and overall Gabe Dobbs good protection.
4. Daniel is a real weapon for this team and did a great job of kicking the ball today. Medley did a nice job on kick offs. Coverage teams did their job well overall.
5. RBs - Kelly and Kamara ran well and saw openings and burst through to gain extra yards. Kelly had some super runs of breaking tackles. Both made great cuts and decisions on runs. Kamara's last TD was a great run!
6. Run defense was simply pitiful! We yielded too many yards until the red zone. We played some decent D at times and much better in red zone. LBrs had a rough day. Too many runs off the edges that gashed us for huge gains. This is our greatest need in recruiting at this time. We need to sign 4 stud aggressive LBrs.
7. Derek Barnett is clearly the best player on this team and without him, this may be the worst defense in the league - He is just that special. Abernathy made some good plays to help us.
8. DTs gave up huge plays. Really a bad day for the guys inside. This was clearly our worst day outside of Bama at LBrs. DKjr is behind from being hurt and you can tell missing the games and reps has set him back. Berry had a few good plays but like all other LBrs had some terrible plays.
9. Kelly had a very bad day and game. His lack of speed is so concerning.
10. Kick returns. No question we missed Berry. It is beyond ridiculous to even trot Josh Smith out to field another punt. We clearly have much better talent and anyone is better.
11. Coaching. Offense - good job. we had a few rough series but overall we were creative and got Dobbs engaged to lead to 49 points. Special teams coverages were solid. We need to make a better coaching decision on punt returns. We are horrible now. Hopefully Sutton and Kamara can get back quickly. Oh yeah, Calloway ran one back for a TD last week. How soon we forgot. Defense- Shoop had a really rough day. He needs to improve quickly especially as we get closer to making it to Atlanta and bowl game. I don't look forward to a repeat with Bama in our current state of coaching and player options. It will be worse than the recent game. The same for a good bowl matchup. Without Barnett drawing doubles and stuffing plays and chasing QBs, this defense is horrendous. We are just terrible beyond the line of scrimmage.
I am happy for the win and the grit of this team to earn this win, but we had some major errors on D today that may cost us in future games if we don't make adjustments.
