While there are arguments to be made for bringing in a big name OC, I believe that Butch wants to put his stamp on this program in a long-term way. I just don't sense that he will sacrifice long-term success for a guy who might be here for a year and move on.

Lastly, and quite depressingly, I don't think our booster community is stepping up and writing a million dollar check like they are at LSU, BAMA, and other places. YET. That's why our surplus is the same today, not enough, as it was when Butch was hired.
For this reason, I think Butch hires someone he can trust, that is committed to helping him succeed here, and who he is comfortable with. That limits the candidate pool.
