Simmons, Banks and Blakely looked pretty solid last night. Regardless of the competition, they all looked stronger, quicker and immensely better coached.

Will be a big positive if they can keep improving (which all should). Blakely surprises me the most. He’s no sack artist, but looks like a very solid edge guy against the run. He was active.

Baron seemed improved as well. Trembley and Terry will do just fine.

And don’t forget, had B Young been out there that second quarter probably doesnt go so well for BG. Based upon what we have been told, he was worth at least one sack/likely punt on those 15 pass attempts before half.

That being said, I’ll be spending another 8 days wondering what the F is up at QB (or maybe w the passing game). I dont mind the over throws or hard passes that much.( If we can convert one out of 3 deep balls that is pretty good. ) But there’s just no way there werent guys open ten/fifteen yards downfield on some of those sacks/scrambles and there’s no way on earth Milton has even close to the time in the pocket he had last night once in conference. I hope our routes were extremely basic by design.

Can’t ignore the run game. That block by 88 (as basically playing fullback) on the TD run was great. About 10 miles ahead of anything Chaney would have designed.
